Career Background

Expert has practiced law in Southern California for over 25 years, most of which have involved health law. Expert's career began at two major business law firms in Los Angeles and he then became in-house counsel as Chief Legal Counsel of Travelers Health Services and thereafter as a General Counsel of Maxicare Health Plans. Since April of 2000 Expert has been in private practice headquartered in Long Beach, California, specializing in healthcare and civil litigation.

Practice Summary

Expert has represented numerous healthcare providers and businesses, including a medical foundation, a manufacturer of digitizers for X-ray films, an IPA, a DME provider, a third-party administrator, a community hospital, an ambulatory surgery center network, a nationwide renal dialysis company, a multi-state behavioral health company, a health plan, a home infusion company and a radiology imaging company.

Expert served as special healthcare counsel to the Creditors Committee in the successful Santa Paula Memorial Hospital bankruptcy Chapter 11, has represented healthcare companies in ERISA and Medicaid collection actions in various states and has lectured on healthcare collections under state and federal law.
