Insurance and Reinsurance Experience

Expert 1099 has extensive experience in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance underwriting, management, company startup, marketing, product research and development.

He is the founder and President of a company which offers property and casualty insurance and reinsurance services, including arbitration, company startup and runoff, expert witness and litigation support, feasibility studies, product research and development, policy reviews and underwriting audits.

Expert 1099 established the property insurance division for Kemper Casualty Insurance Co., where he was Senior Vice President.

Expert 1099 had a key role in the startup of SOREMA N.A. Reinsurance Co. and during his tenure as its Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer premiums grown from less than $7 million to over $200 million, with loss ratios consistently below industry average. He was also Executive Vice President of Fulcrum Insurance Co, a wholly owned excess and surplus lines subsidiary of SOREMA and served as member of the board of directors of both companies.

Prior to joining SOREMA, Expert 1099 has been Senior Vice President, Research and Special Risks at SCOR, where he established reverse flow casualty, surety and fidelity bond operations and developed a building guarantee product.

His insurance career began at the INA and continued at CIGNA, where he was Vice President –Special Risks, in charge of underwriting construction and energy related business and developed their system performance product.

Expert 1099 is a former Chairman and current Advisory Board member of the Conference of Special Risk Underwriters and member of the Philadelphia Chapter of CPCU. He holds a BA in Economics from Temple University and the CPCU designation.

Expert Witness Experience

Expert 1099 has been retained expert witness on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants involving automobile, property, general liability, workers compensation, medical malpractice and professional errors and omission policies. He wrote opinions and or provided testimony about water damage and mold claims, misrepresentation in applications for insurance, coverage issues, rescission of policies, insurance broker and insurer standards and practices.
