Hospital is a licensed 350 bed facility, Level II Nursery, Level II Trauma.
Responsibilities include: Director of: Respiratory Care Department, Pulmonary Function Lab, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Bronchoscopies, EEG’s, and a six bed Sleep Lab. Managing 33.8 FTE’s including five Supervisors, a Secretary and a Registered Nurse. Other duties include: prepare budgets, payroll, hiring, discipline, training, QA, capital requests/purchases, Joint Commission and Department of Health visits, implementing protocols, policies, procedures, monthly department meetings, review payroll, scheduling, adjust staffing levels in accordance with census and other managerial responsibilities. Committees; Pulmonary PI, Pulmonary Care Unit PI, Critical Care PI, Code Blue, Rapid Response, Woman’s Health Center (nursery/delivery), Pneumonia, Patient Satisfaction, Patient Education. Provide respiratory in services every two weeks to new RN’s, provide inservice on non invasive ventilation to nursing staff for yearly competencies, teach CPR, ACLS, PALS, and NRP throughout hospital. Accomplishments include increased moral, implemented bronchodilator protocol, implemented bronchial drainage protocol, revised and added one hundred respiratory policies and procedures, provided monthly CEU lectures to department, adjusted department’s RVU’s in accordance with latest AARC guidelines, brought staffing levels up to par, worked with local college to provide a clinical site for all semesters, provide presentations to various departments, received numerous ACE awards for displaying acts beyond the call of duty,

Responsible for scheduling, performing PFT’s, EEG’s, EKG’s, ABG’s, Ventilator Care, ICU rounds, partake in daily assignment. Ventilators include PB 7200, Bird T-Bird, Vision Bipap, and Respironics STD-30.Other duties include meetings with director, teaching CPR and ACLS classes, preparing staff on Joint Commission and Health Department visits.
