Responsible for the management of all nursing care systems within the hospital, in addition to            transportation, respiratory, pastoral care and social services departments.  Participated with leaders from the governing body, management, medical staff, and clinical areas in developing the hospitals mission, strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operation plans, policies and procedures and conducted hospital wide quality assessment and improvement activities.  Established, with other management personnel, the hospitals philosophy, goals and objectives, Standards of Care, Standards of Practice, and policies and processes to achieve optimum quality patient care and financial profitability.

Consistently achieved financial performance goals, hospital profitable for 25 of 28 years.
Participated in hospital architectural redesign projects.
Developed the nursing division annual budgets and goals, which aligned with hospital strategic plan.
Developed computerized master staffing plans that supported hospital’s financial performance goals.
Implemented hospitals initiatives to achieve best decile performance in the three years of the CMS Demonstration Project for Surgical Infection Prevention in Hip and Knee Replacement; top ranked hospital in the nation in year one and third ranked in year two.  (Third year pending).
Participated in the development of the application leading to the organizations receipt of the 1994 and 1996 Oklahoma Quality Award for Excellence (based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria. 
Participated in coordinating accreditation efforts, with hospital attaining JCAHO status of Accredited with Commendation, and scores of 99 in 1997 and 2000, the highest possible level of accreditation, with score of 95 in 2003, and only two Recommendations for Improvement in 2006.
