August 1999 – May 2005, SCPIE Re Management Inc. Summit, NJ as President in charge of Ceded and Assumed Reinsurance Underwriting for The SCPIE Companies, Los Angeles, CA.  Likewise, held varying Senior Management titles in all of the Companies comprising SCPIE Holdings, Inc.

1997 – August, 1999, Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., New York, NY (resulting from merger of Johnson & Higgins and Marsh & McLennan) as Managing Director and member of the U.S. Operating Committee of Guy Carpenter.

1984 – 1997, Wilcox Incorporated, New York, NY, Then a subsidiary of Johnson & Higgins and was promoted to Executive Vice President – Worldwide Treaty Reinsurance Operations.

1981 – 1984, Booth, Potter, Seal & Company (subsidiary of Rollins Burdock & Hunter now Aon), Philadelphia, PA as Vice President – Treaty Account Executive.  Also, in charge of in house Property and Casualty Facultative Binding Authorities.

1969 – 1981, Balis & Company, Inc. (subsidiary of Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc.), Philadelphia, PA – learned all functions of the Reinsurance Brokerage business and was elected Assistant Vice President – Treaty Account Executive.  Also, in charge of in house Property and Casualty Facultative Binding Authorities.

Professional Experience

1969 to august 1, 1999 – approximately thirty (30) years of reinsurance brokerage experience in producing and managing all forms and lines of treaty and facultative reinsurance business, including extensive involvement in all types of financial reinsurance and alternative risk reinsurance structures.  Over twenty (20) years of handling casualty treaty reinsurance clients with particular emphasis on all types of professional liability coverage, including directors and officers liability, fiduciary liability, medical, legal and accounting professional malpractice.

August 1, 1999 to May 1, 2005 – Developed an Assumed Reinsurance Underwriting Division for The SCPIE Companies writing a select account of Worldwide Property, Casualty, Accident & Health, Surety and Marine Treaty Reinsurance business.  Established a Lloyd’s Capital Provider vehicle as a method for doing select Capital Investments in various Lloyd’s Syndicates.  Responsible for all Ceded and Assumed reinsurance transactions within The SCPIE Companies.

May 1, 2005 to Present - In September 2004 established a Resolutions Company in New Jersey as a personal corporate vehicle to provide Arbitration, Expert Witness, Mediation, Run-Off and Consulting services to Insurance and Reinsurance Companies.
