Experience

Asa licensed General Insurance Adjuster (all lines), Expert 1189 represented many of the leading insurance carriers in the resolution of property and business interruption insurance claims stemming from hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, fires, tornadoes, and other causes.  Client firms have included ITT Hartford, Chubb, 20th Century/AIG, and the Harleysville Group. His initial industry training was with the global firm GAB Robins.

An Accredited Senior Appraiser designation of the American Society of Appraisers, Expert 1189 valuation experience includes insurance, trust, and ESOP-related  business valuations. He is a licensed real estate broker and experienced as a builder in rehabilitating commercial and residential properties, and has performed real estate appraisals for mortgage companies. His specific experience includes:

Adjusting/consultingover 6,500 claims for the major catastrophes of the 1990’s including Hurricane Andrew; the Northridge (Los Angeles) Earthquake, and as a result of many of the other natural disasters in Florida, N. and S. Carolina, Virginia, and 13 other states.  The adjustments included property and business interruption losses at factories, condominiums, businesses, golf courses, professional practices, and residences for most of the major insurance carriers

Consultant/negotiator for owner of a tornado damaged furniture factory resulting in a $3 million-plus settlement;

Buying, rehabilitating, selling, and development of improved real properties and raw land on behalf of  investors and for personal portfolio;

Licensed builder for new construction and as a restoration contractor in Florida after Hurricane Andrew;

Having completed three years of training in GE’s Financial Management Program, Expert 1189 was a member of the corporation’s Apollo Division transition team from its NASA (U. S. government) orientation to non-governmental business after the successful NASA Moon landing.  Projects included working in forecasting, budgets, and analysis, data processing/general accounting interface, and manufacturing cost accounting.
