PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

A Senior Consulting Engineer with 20 years of diverse professional and industrial based engineering experience in mechanical, electromechanical, and optical engineering fields. Experience includes product design, research and development, technical program management, engineering management, and business management. Experience in marine applications as well as high and low volume industrial manufacturing settings. Background includes machine design, fracture failure of concrete and rock, theme park ride and machinery, high-tension cables, underwater materials, high-speed machinery, tool and die, fiber optics, and elastomeric applications.

Application areas supported include the defense industry for underwater cable and connectors, submarine sonar array, and acoustics; the pipe and tube mill industry for cutoff shears, control systems, and tool and die; the high speed canning industry for aerosol can, automated test equipment, and canning dies; the theme park industry for ride and show machinery and equipment; and the undersea marine industry for material corrosion applications, underwater wet and dry connectors, and cable terminations. Additional research background associated with fracture failure and crack propagation in metals, concrete, and rock.

Increasing levels of responsibility held throughout engineering career, beginning in 1985 in the defense industry, with progressive positions spanning Mechanical Technician through Project Engineer, and finally serving as an Engineering Project Manager. In 1993, transitioned to commercial capital equipment manufacturing, where served as Project Engineer and Engineering Supervisor. Later supported the development and analysis of theme park equipment and machinery, and held design and project management positions in the high speed canning industry. Began in 1997 as an Engineering Manager for an undersea equipment manufacturer, where ultimately transitioned to a Corporate Officer position serving as the VP of Engineering and finally Division President.

In 2004, formed my own engineering company, providing engineering analysis, failure and accident analysis, product design, and productivity consulting for industrial, defense, and legal applications and requirements.
