Electrical Fire Experts

An electrical fire expert witness is a professional consultant or other fire-related specialist who has experience and specialized knowledge about the electrical causes of fires. They are often employed by insurance companies to investigate how an electrical fire started and the source of ignition in order to determine fault in cases of litigation. Electrical fire experts employ a variety of tools to recreate an exact simulation of a potential origin point for the fire, gathering data from burn patterns, power points, insulation materials, wiring installations and other sources which may have been involved prior to or during the blaze.

Fire investigators can utilize their expertise in certain areas to determine if an expert should be used for electric fires. A high level of investigation is necessary when dealing with these types of incidents due to the complexity inherent with electricity. An investigator will often inspect all storeys within a structure as well as any outbuildings or garages to identify any visible evidence which may point towards an electrical cause. Careful tracing and reconstruction must also be executed into the design phase using drawings as well as photographs taken before/after levels have been impacted by smoke damage or water drainage from nearby structures due evaporating extinguishing appliances like sprinklers systems where installed. This can reveal possible locations were arcing could have occurred causing inadequate connections joint leading up-to overheating materials igniting combustible material at distances further away then expected followed up with thorough examination while always looking for interlinked circuits associated with occupancy impairments such place-able relays that wasn’t appropriately separated coming into contact while engaged directly or indirectly ‘climbing arc path’ from one cable run connected too far away protecting devices causing catastrophic disruption leading up too ignition points not immediately evident until appropriate analyses had being undertaken assisted by this type specialized professional staff member.
