Held full accountability for the financial performance and total operation of the paper. Recruited a new management team; developed and implemented news, marketing, and advertising strategies. Worked closely with the editor on news content issues. Worked with advertising and market development directors on pricing, marketing, and Internet strategies.
Led the newspaper to the most successful year in its history, realizing income of $20,000,000 on sales of $40,000,000. The paper’s profit margin was the best of the parent company’s 87 properties.
Reduced workers’ compensation costs by 50% through increased communication and improved safety awareness programs.
