project.  The first cable stay structure
in CA, Gerald Desmond Bridge Replacement project; managed over $ 300M in subcontracts,
Purchase Orders from bid packages to execution, and change orders. Responsible
for all correspondence with the owner, Port of Long Beach.  Filed claim notices exceeding $ 100M,
negotiated change orders, negotiated settlements, Dispute Review Board
preparation, and presentations.  A very
complex project in an environmentally sensitive area with tremendous
environmental requirements.

California (1995-1998)

Contractor on TCA SR
241 a new $720 million privately funded design/build accelerated project. As
Subcontracts Manager, I managed more than 70 subcontractors exceeding $270
million in value; drafted subcontracts, change orders, requests for proposals;
pre-qualified, awarded subcontracts; performed claims review and analysis. As a
segment manager on a $180 million portion, I managed the construction of eight
miles of highway and 18 bridges, along with infrastructure, pipe jacking,
drainage facilities; 12 million cubic yards of earthwork; regional utility
relocation; negotiating subcontracts and claims; coordinated with the design
team; and controlled the budget and schedule.

Engineer – Department of Transportation, Caltrans
, California (1989-1995)

A $500M Federally funded widening of the 110 Harbor FWY.  I
represented the State of California in enforcing a rigid Quality Control
Program as well as safety, negotiating and editing change orders. Projects
involved more than 15 bridges from two- to 36-spans, demolishing bridges,
jacking bridges, retaining walls, rigid and flexible pavements, all types of
piles, ramps, pump station, bus stations, and complex staging to handle 250,000
VPD.  As an Assistant Structures
Engineer, inspected $56 million of heavy highway construction, a 1.6 mile-long
bridge reviewed false-work and shoring plans, as well as inspection of five,
two-span cast in place post tension box girder bridges.

managed the day to day operation of remodeling 3 public schools, commercial

with the contractor on Dammam Military City; a $ 1Billion 1982 value project.  I supervised the construction of four
concrete & masonry schools and ten housing units.  I managed over 35 craftsmen and the main concrete
batch plant (600 CY/day) for the whole project.


Field Engineer – Pegel Arabia, Saudi

with the contractor on the new Riyadh International Airport a $3 Billion
project, the largest airport in the Middle East
includes all aspects of heavy civil construction.  Construction of the main two terminals on
various assignments, steel erection, survey, quality control, reinforced
concrete and architectural precast.
