Investigated approximately 800 fires of all types

A member of the training committee for the State Board of Fire Services that developed the Certification Training Standards for the State of California certified fire investigators.  Assisted in rewrite of Certification Training Standards in 1996 and 2005

A member of the California Department of Justice, Peace  Officers Standards and Training Committee that developed safety procedures for arson and explosives training for peace officers throughout the state. This committee also developed a statewide Video Tele-Conference on Arson/Explosives that was presented to Law Enforcement throughout the state in October 1997.

Set over 200 fires in all types of buildings in determining fire spread.  Accidental as well as arson sets were used.

Trained approximately 8000 fire service and law enforcement officers in California State Board of Fire Service, and California Peace Officers Standards and Training Certified Fire/Explosives Investigation Courses.

Developed a specialized course in Fire/Explosives Death Investigation that is presented biannually at the State Coroners Academy, and has been presented to approximately 2500 Fire Service, Law Enforcement, And Coroners Personnel throughout this State, in the States of Nevada, Washington, Hawaii, and in Canada and Mexico.  Also presented to International Association of Arson Investigator Conferences in Georgia, Oklahoma, Hawaii and Michigan since 1996.  This class was presented in September 1997 to the National Response Team of the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.

Guest lecturer at numerous seminars, California District Attorney’s Association Arson Symposium, State of California, Office of Emergency Services,  Specialized Training Institute, the State Fire Academy at Asilomar, and the California Conference of Arson Investigators in fire/explosives investigation and related matters.

Spring of 1995 assisted in development and presentation of a one week arson/explosives class for law enforcement detective personnel throughout the state of California as part of the Institute of Criminal Investigation, California Department of Justice, Peace Officers Standards and Training.

Developed and presented one week training programs in Fire/Explosion Investigation in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995 to The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Fire Officials of The Northwest Territories, and the Provinces of Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, Canada.

Developed and presented a Fire Investigation Level III Class with the Fire Commissioners Office of British Columbia and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in November 1994, November 1995, June and November 1996.

Developed and presented a one week Fire Investigation Training Program for the Maui County, Hawaii Fire and Police Departments in 1990.

Developed and assisted in the presentation of a one day training program for the Mexican Government in Baja California in Bomb Threats and Clandestine Explosives Recognition.

Guest Lecturer at International Association of Arson Investigators International Conference May 1995, and 2005, 2006, 2007.

Guest lecturer at International Association of Arson Investigators State Chapter Conferences throughout the United States, and at the Association Home Appliances Manufacturers conferences presented in association with the International Association of Arson Investigators

Since 1996 continuing to Instruct in the various levels of Certified Fire Investigation Courses presented statewide under the auspices of the State Board of Fire Services and the California Department of Justice, Peace Officers Standards and Training.

Lecturer at The Mexican Fire Chiefs Conference Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico September 1995 relating to investigation duties of the Fire Service, and again in October 1997 at the conference in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico on Fire and Explosive incidents with casualties.

Developed a statewide program for fireworks enforcement which has been given to approximately 1200 fire service and law enforcement personnel.  Taught fireworks and explosives enforcement at the State Fire Academy Asilomar.  Acted as liaison between the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Southern California Fireworks Enforcement Program.

Consultant to the Commissioner for Television and Entertainment Licensing, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in establishing laws and regulations for the use of energetic materials in the entertainment industry.  This has been an ongoing project from July 1998 through September 2002
