Owns and operates his own training company, conducing courses for police, private security and private citizens.
Since 2003 he regularly serves as a guest instructor with the Federal Bureau of Investigation teaching police firearm instructor courses. A former general police general departmental instructor and certified as a Tennessee Peace Officer Standards instructor in firearms, instructor development, traffic accident investigation, ethics, incident command, response to active shooter for patrol officers, and several general police subjects. He teaches on a regular basis at On-Target, Murfreesboro, TN.
He is a Tennessee State Certified Handgun Instructor and a NRA Certified Instructor and NRA Master Training Counselor in the disciplines of Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Home Firearm Safety, and Personal Protection In and outside the home, and the NRA’s refuse to Be a Victim program. He is a registered trainer certified to teach armed, unarmed, baton, and subject control spray with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
He is also a FBI, POST and NRA Certified Law Enforcement Instructor in Handgun, Shotgun and Patrol Rifle.
In addition, he is a NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer, a M-16/AR-15 Certified Armorer, a Glock Certified Armorer, Smith and Wesson M & P Armorer and Colt and Springfield 1911 Armorer.
He is a graduate of numerous civilian, military and law enforcement firearms training schools, including the FBI Firearms Instructor School, the NRA Law Enforcement Instructor Development School, Counter Sniper School and several courses at the Yavapai Firearms Academy.
He served as a formal military instructor, and possesses over 15 years experience teaching firearm instructor courses to civilian and Law Enforcement Instructors. He has served as a traffic crash investigator, background investigator and trainer for a municipal police agency.
He is an active member of the International Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association, International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association, former vice president of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Officers Association and a member of the National Tactical Officers Association.
