Responsibilities include the examination of fragmentary friction ridge detail on physical evidence submitted to the laboratory, utilize numerous physical and chemical development techniques on evidentiary items submitted to the laboratory, conduct comparisons between known and unknown sources, document and preserve latent impressions through digital photography, apply digital imaging techniques, utilize the Connecticut Automated Fingerprint Identification System (CT-AFIS) and the Next Generation Identification System databases, prepare written scientific reports, conduct technical reviews of other examiners and testify in court to latent print results.
