Insurance Career Experience

My insurance career originated in a small insurance agency after graduating from high school.  Beginning as an entry-level insurance secretary, my responsibilities and position grew to that of a Customer Service Representative for personal lines auto, homeowners, umbrella liability, personal watercraft and residential rental properties.  My duties included initial placement, claims reporting, renewals, endorsements and all pertinent paperwork in a supportive role for the Agency Owner.

As the years progressed, I pursued new challenges in the commercial insurance arena.  My continuing employment in the insurance industry included Agency/Brokerage Retail and Multi-Line Underwriting for Insurance Carriers and Managing General Agents.

Skill Set

In addition to successful employment and completion of assigned duties, my qualifications include:

Familiarity with a large range of computer programs specific to the insurance industry such as Applied, Sagitta and other outside programs such as IRMI, Best, State Fund online, carrier rating systems and insurance periodicals such as Rough Notes, Pf&M, Insurance Journal, etc.

Complete familiarity with Microsoft Products such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Lotus Notes
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Marketing techniques including the ability to procure and retain a Client Base.

Mesa Community College, San Diego, CA, 100 semester hours in social sciences, GPA 3.8
