Expert 2515 has significant claim management experience in the handling of all lines of insurance underwritten by major Property/Casualty Insurance Companies.  He has devoted a substantial portion of his insurance career to litigation management and law office auditing.

He developed and managed law office audit programs for two employers and for a major international customer.  In the latter instance, he had development, oversight, leadership, participation and reporting responsibilities for a review of all U. S. litigation.

Expert 2515 also developed and implemented the initial ADR program for a major insurance company.  The preparation and study required for that assignment, combined with his experience in mediation and arbitration as a party, establish that he is eminently qualified as a mediator.

Responsible for developing and managing law office audit programs for company and major international client.  Assisted in the development and implementation of a state of the art, nationwide litigation management and strategy program, including training and reinforcement for claim staff and major law firms. Managed relationships between company and law firms representing major clients.  Assisted claim department with investigation and negotiations of major litigation involving all lines of coverage.  Participate in claim department quality audits.

1989 – 1995, Private Insurance Company, Director of Litigation, Western & Midwestern Territory, NY

Responsible for implementation of the National Litigation procedure and policy in the Western and Midwestern Regions, with emphasis on California; working with Home Office and Branch offices to carefully craft a Litigation Management Plan focusing on quality representation without sacrifice of expense control.  Assist claim locations in the direct handling and negotiations of significant litigation involving general liability, professional liability, products liability, construction defect, officers and directors, and EMT (including extra contractual litigation).  Direct management responsibilities of up to sixteen Staff Counsel operations.

1981-1985, Attorney at Law, Joliet, Illinois, Private Practice,
With permission of employer, set up and ran a small part time law office general practice, with emphasis on tort and family matters.

1964 – 1989, Allstate Insurance Company, Northbrook, Illinois, Home Office Claim Attorney

Responsible for directing investigation and litigation of most significant  property/casualty claims (including extra contractual matters), as well as policy construction and coverage interpretation nationwide, with a concentration in California;  reviewed and advised on pending and passed tort reform legislation;  engaged in direct negotiations of complex, high exposure cases.  Developed and implemented Allstate’s ADR program, including training of nationwide staff.

1964 – 1983, Career development included:  Adjuster;  Claim Supervisor;  Casualty, Manager;  Casualty Claim Manager.  Management responsibilities included training and directing up to 60 staff personnel.
