Expert Resume Narrative

Expert is a highly trained and experienced optometrist who has been as intimately involved in the research, development, and fitting of specialty contact lenses as he has been in the clinical practice of optometry.
Expert started practice in 1975 after graduating from the Indiana University School of Optometry.  In 1986, Expert helped A Vision Company do pioneer research on the newly developed soft contact lenses prior to their release in the United States.

During the last 35 years Expert has served on many research panels to study the safety and reliability of many newly developed contact lenses and related solution products. As a specialty practice in contact lenses, Expert fits lenses to treat various medical problems such as keratoconus and recurrent corneal ulcers. Today, with the wide range of state-of-the-art technology available, almost anyone can be fitted with contact lenses.

Expert is Board Certified to Treat and Manage Ocular Disease as defined by the Indiana Optometric Association. This includes the treatment and management of dry eyes and glaucoma. Also, to better meet the needs of our patients, Expert now provides Laser Vision Correction consultations for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, in addition to glasses and contact lenses.

Expert’s affiliation with several FDA approved Laser Centers using the nation’s top pphthalmic surgeons allows Expert to help you find the right procedure and center. Expert has free Laser Vision Consultation available for refractive laser surgery. Expert has been credentialed to assist in deciding which laser procedure is right and how to find the right ophthalmic surgeon and laser center.

Expert has the ability to do all the laser surgery pre-op and post-op examinations in Expert’s office and can assist the surgeon on the day of surgery.

Expert has received a number of awards including one of The Best and Brightest Practice in 1989 by a magazine. He is on the speaker’s bureau and national panels of several contact lens companies. His main volunteer activities include JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) TALKS mentor for elementary students, and FFB (Foundation for Fighting Blindness).
