RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

6/82-6/84    Undergraduate Researcher, Stanford University Medical Center, Department of Pathology, Dr. Jeffrey Sklar.

Recombinant DNA research on gene expression and deletion.  Devised a technique for diagnosis of B-cell lymphoma using immunoglobulin gene rearrangements.  Work involved gel electrophoresis, Southern blot hybridization, Ig probe construction, immunofluorescent staining, and tissue culture.

9/84-6/85    Research Assistant, Stanford University Medical Center, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, Dr. William S. Robinson.

Projects included developing a recombinant vaccine for Hepatitis B, detection assay for Hepatitis C, and developing a continuous cell line for the production of  HIV.
