Sports Cards and Sports Memorabilia Appraisal Expertise Specialty Assignment and Appraisal Engagements

  • Fleer / Skybox International – Sports card manufacturing company: Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors: Appraiser and Consultant (Sports memorabilia appraisal and consultation of the Fleer sports memorabilia inventory). Appraisal services and valuation consulting included the appraisal of more than two million sports cards, professional sports players’ clothing, and game–used sports memorabilia items (basketball, football, hockey, and baseball).
  • Tammy J. Parsons v. Scott D. Parsons, State of North Carolina, County of Wakefield, in the General Court of Justice District Court Division: 07 CVD 14236: Appraisal of sports memorabilia and collectibles.
  • Richard Nixon v. United States of America (Nixon Watergate Papers Case)
  • Sharon, et al v. Northeast Self-Storage, Inc. and Manchester Self-Storage, Inc., New Hampshire (personal property collectibles valuation including: vintage and contemporary sports cards, sports memorabilia, dolls, toys, action figures, celebrity memorabilia and television collectibles)
  • Lead appraiser in numerous bankruptcy cases, dissolution of marriage cases, and estate tax liability appraisals containing personal property including: sports cards and sports collectibles, rare books, aircraft, classic cars, Hollywood & rock memorabilia, and residential contents.
  • Charitable contribution appraisals for written works, books, sports collections and archives, from and by Members of the US Congress, US Senators, US Presidents, well-known authors, Hollywood celebrities, NASA Moon-walking astronauts, professional athletes, sports figures, and world dignitaries.

Federal State and Local Government Engagements

  • Prime contractor for US Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service (IRS); serving as the lead appraiser and litigation consultant in sports memorabilia, sports autographs, and sports art cases. These engagements included the appraisal of sports cards, sports memorabilia, and sports autographs, with one case claiming to have a Fair Market Value in excess of three million dollars.
  • Prime contractor for US Department of Justice, US Marshal Service, serving as appraiser and consultant of sports memorabilia, sports autographs, fine art, jewelry and coins. Sports memorabilia cases include identification, consulting, and valuation including; — one case consisting of more than 172,000 sports cards.
  • Named subcontractor for US Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection Service, providing appraisal, consulting and litigation support services for sports memorabilia, sports collectibles, sports autographs, fine art, high-performance automobiles antiquities, ancient artifacts, sculpture, illustrations, manuscripts and works on paper. Recent appraisal services include the valuation and identification of more than ten thousand basketball, baseball, and football sports cards.
