EXPERIENCE

MANAGER
TX DPS Fingerprint Processing Bureau Austin, TX || May 2010 – Dec 2015 Managed a 24/7 operation with 60 personnel including Live-scan coordinator and the AFIS Project Assistant for the State of Texas. Oversaw 7 supervisors that span 3 shifts. We received, processed, forwarded to the FBI, and reported all conclusions for arrest information, as well as applicant requests for the entire state relying in over 250 Live-scan devises and multiple remote sites that submit Latent Print transactions. My team provided multiple ways to connect including FTP, Direct Connect, and the Store and Forward option used for ULW transactions.

FORENSIC SCIENTIST IV
TX DPS Crime Lab Austin, TX || July 2008 – May 2010 Responsible for collection, processing, handling, and packaging of evidence that was either submitted by a local agency or collected at crime scenes. Writing detailed reports in connection with analysis, comparison, evaluation, and verification of Latent Prints. Professional testimony given in District and Federal courts when called upon to do so. Some Forensic photography when needed. Served on the Latent Print Advisory Board in the Crime Laboratory. I assisted with the presentation to all recruits that come through the Academy. I assisted with the training of new personnel and also assisted with the Technical, Evidence, Latent, and Administrative reviews on casework being performed in the Latent section. I served as the President and Chairman of the Board of the Texas Division of the International Association for Identification during this time.

Responsible for collection, processing, handling, and packaging of evidence that was either submitted by a local agency or collected at crime scenes. Writing detailed reports in connection with analysis, comparison, evaluation, and verification of Latent Prints. Professional testimony given in District and Federal courts when called upon to do so. Forensic photography when called for. Held a position on the board for Crime Scene Response Unit and was instrumental in putting together the SOP and Training outline for said entity. Served on the Latent Print Advisory Board in the Crime Laboratory. I taught a four-day portion of the Texas Rangers Crime Scene School that is taught twice a year. I assisted with the presentation to all recruits that came through the Academy. I assisted with the training of new personnel and assisted
with the Technical, Evidence, Latent, and Administrative reviews on casework being performed in the Latent section. Other duties as assigned.

A.F.I.S. PROJECT ASSISTANT/LIVE SCAN COORDINATOR
TX DPS Fingerprint Processing Bureau Austin, TX | Sept 1997 – July 2000 Responsible for overall performance of AFIS and placement of live scan devices in local jails. This included the connection of devices with local server, as well as procuring communications lines with firewall protection and router facilities to connect with local databases. Purchased new equipment as upgrades became available. Assisted in creating bid proposals and equipment specifications for current AFIS and live scan configurations.
