Achievements
As bomb disposal supervisor with Arizona Department of Public Safety, averaged 15 bomb calls a month. Of these, two bombs per month required defusing. Total number (over 20-year career) of 480 resulted in successful defusions with NO incident and. NO injuries.
As bomb squad Commander and Director of International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators (IABTI), developed minimum standards for all bomb squads nationwide, including FBI Bomb Data Center. Standards were comprehensive including procedure manuals, rules and regulations, administrative, policies, equipment choice, and explosive entry (breaching) procedures for S.W.A.T. teams. In same capacity evaluated deployment and use of stun grenades/diversionary device/flash bangs .by S.W.A.T. teams.
As training specialist for all Arizona law enforcement S.WA.T. Teams, taught and demonstrated breaching techniques diversionary device deployment, high-risk entry techniques, and barricaded gunman situations.
Published author of literature regarding breaching techniques and diversionary device deployment.
